Scorpions on the attack at Shielfield this weekend

the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) are without their new signing, Nikolaj B.

Bandits ride out of their skins to defeat Panthers

It seems even regular guests are not exempt from the Berwick 2017 bad luck syndrome as young Jack Parkinson-Blackburn ended up in a heap on the first bend, and this after having shown what a great talent he with a massive pass round Simon Lambert off the fourth bend of the third lap in Heat Eight for a top class paid win in a vital 5-1 in a match that had everything and every point counted.

Bandits go for second win over Panthers thia year

The Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits powered by Mike Hope of Wooler go for a second victory over the Peterborough Panthers this season against the side they had failed to defeat for the previous 18 seasons when the side arrives in their second of three northern tour fixtures.

SGB Championship Fours today at 2

The Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) go into today's SGB Championship Fours at Peterborough with their only four available riders after the unfortunate situations last week which saw another season-ending injury for a brand new Bandit and a frustrating "in-out-back in again" situation that at least does see Berwick (and Scunthorpe) compete in the important national event at 2.00pm.

STARS EVERYWHERE!

Tonight at Berwick the new promotion are carrying on the tradition set by the first owners of the club when the Taylor family ran the first Stars of Tomorrow championship for young up and coming riders in their third year of trading in 1971, with tonight being the 30th staging.

Bandits on the Road to Redcar

The Berwick Bandits' 2017 season, full of disastrous turns and injury, took another blow to the gut when it emerged that top new signing, Dane Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen is out for the season after a heavy third bend fall at Shielfield Park on Saturday suffering a shoulder injury, just in time for the Bandits trip to the Redcar Bears tonight in the SGB Championship.

Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen out for remainder of 2017

Berwick Speedway's luck has... As if it were possible... Diced further into the mire as the club have explained in a statement, which reads:

"We're not sure if we have run over a few black cats or walked under the odd ladder without noticing but we regret to inform you that our spectacular new Danish signing will miss the rest of the season with shoulder damage after that frightening Heat 4 crash on Saturday vs the Sheffield Tigers.

"Nikolaj bravely bartled on throughout the night but was checked out afterwards and ruled out.

2017 Theme of ghastly luck, loss but fantastic racing continues

Thankfully for the Berwick Bandits' new management team, the crowds are still looking healthy despite a basement league position and an injury list that reads like a Bandits' Who's Who of 2017, and that has to be down to the phenomenal team spirit the lads in the Black and Gold race jackets and certainly not least that there's rarely been a poor match all year with the racing on many occasions, set at fever pitch with brilliant passing moves and thrills to get the fans to their feet.

Bandits welcome Sheffield tonight at 7

On Tweedside the Bandits welcome the Sheffield Tigers to Shielfield Park tonight at 7.00pm, for the first battle between the sides in the Borders this year, but with the Tigers riding high after their 60-33 drubbing of Newcastle in South Yorkshire on Thursday, Berwick have their work cut out.

Berwick have won seldom few home league encounters this season to date, although the level of top class racing excitement has helped in keeping crowd levels healthy, and it's pretty much assured tonight will again see the best of action with Sheffield bristling with talent.

Bandits welcome NIKOLAJ BUSK JAKOBSEN

Danish superstar Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen has agreed to join the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) for.the remainder of the 2017 SGB Championship season pending the usual BSPA approval.

Nikolaj joins the Bandits on loan from Rye House and has an impressive record around Shielfield Park racing for the Rockets and the Peterborough Panthers in past seasons taking good points.
