Bandits welcome Glasgow back to Shielfield

Saturday night at seven sees the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) return home after their spirited match at Sheffield on Thursday full of belief that they are capable of putting one over the Glasgow Tigers (currently third in the SGB Championship league table, who they held well in the early stages of their last Borders' battle back in April before just losing out 44-46 and now feel that extra step in within their grasp.

Bandits look for improvement at Sheffield tonight.

The Berwick Bandits take to their travels once again for this evening's SGB Championship at the Sheffield Tigers for the second time this 2017 season, and have a lot of catching up to do as way back in April the Borderers went down 30-61.

Speedway the winner as Bandits battle with Witches

Ok, so Berwick lost to Ipswich 45-47, but the Berwick public left Shielfield Park on Saturday night exhausted having seen a superb speedway event that started at a snails-pace, boiling over to fever pitch come Heat 15 with the old adage "Speedway was the winner" more apt after that match than any other.

Bandits welcome Ipwswich tonight at 7

Following last night's defeat at Edinburgh, albeit with verve and attitude, the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) need to regroup rapidly for the still challenge ahead tonight.

Ipswich Witches are at Shielfield Park as part of a mini Northern tour and come armed with a tough range of ammunition including Rory Schlein and Danny King, and a team never to be underestimated

Hard Championship date at Edinburgh tonight

The weekend starts early for the Berwick Bandits who embark on an unenviable visit to their least successful away venue, Armadale - the home of the Edinburgh Monarchs tonight at 7.30pm.

Diamonds dominate Bandits but Borderers have the cream of the guests

Richard Lawson lined up for the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) at Newcastle on Sunday night against a set of Diamonds boasting two of his own Glasgow team mates in Richie Worrall and Aaron Summers and the Berwick choice proved to be the cream of the Clydeside crop.

Bandits at Newcastle on Sunday

The Berwick Bandits and Newcastle Diamonds take to the shale circuits again this weekend, but its only one match with the local derby at Brough Park tomorrow at 6.30pm in the SGB Championship.

The Bandits have a week off at Shielfield Park for the Speedway World Cup first round that sets off at King's Lynn this evening, but it's all systems go in Byker tomorrow at 6.30pm for the next local derby league encounter.

Have Bandits turned a corner?

Following a pretty disastrous Saturday night against Redcar, the Bandits travelled to Scunthorpe with three guests and despite the bravado, little hope of putting on a show at the Eddy Wright Raceway, but never doubt the spirit of the Bandits as they took a hold of the match by the scruff of the neck and shook the living daylights out of it.

Jye's lucky escape

The management of the Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) are pleased to report this morning that their high flying reserve, Jye Etheridge has escaped last nights horror smash without serious injury!

Jye clashed with Redcar's Jonas B. Andersen and both riders piled into the polyfoam fence at high speed.

Initial fears suggested Jye had potential internal injuries but after a night of thorough examination he has escaped with severe bruising.

Andersen also escaped injury winning the heat's re run.
