Bandits gear-up for Monarchs and Diamonds
The Olympus Marquees Berwick Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) have a busy 48 hours ahead of them with two SGB Championship matches this weekend.
On Saturday they welcome the Edinburgh Monarchs to Tweedside at 7.00pm, while on Sunday the Bandits travel to meet up at the Newcastle Diamonds for the second time in three Sundays at Brough Park at 6.30pm with the Bandits keen to improve on their 35-55 defeat in Byker last month in the Tyne-Tweed Trophy, but will be without the spirited racing of Ryan Blacklock once again.

Berwick's co-promoter, Scott Courtney said: "Ryan went through the fence two Thursdays ago at Ipswich, and had to sit out last weekend's racing, and unfortunately he again hit the deck at Sheffield this Thursday night in his second ride after as usual putting in good effort into his race, but he has hurt his back and it was obvious he would miss this weekend too.
"Its a blow to us as we have the Edinburgh Monarchs at Shielfield Park on Saturday night at 7pm, in a league match which is vital for us to win, not only to take the first Championship points for the Bandits, but to lift our spirits after we have struggled to get results on away tracks, despite the guys really putting the effort in, effort that should have gained us decent points, but it hasn't so we have to maximise our home meetings and make the most of home shale.
"Currently we have booked the amazing Jack Parkinson-Blackburn to race for us at Newcastle tomorrow, but we're still not in a position to reveal who will guest for us tonight against the Monarchs, in what will be a superb local derby, then we need to make amends at Brough tomorrow too."
