British Under-21 Final Shielfield Pk Tuesday at 7

The entire country looks towards Shielfield Park this coming Tuesday night, May 1st at 7.00pm as 16 of the best young prospects in British Speedway battle it out together for the prestigious title of British Under-21 Champion in what is sure to be 20 hotly contested and thrilling races before a semi and final to decide the 2018 champion.

Leading the field are front-runners, Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley, both of whom have been excelling of late at the highest level of the sport in the UK enjoying Premiership racing of the highest standard, but there's local interest too as Berwicker Leon Flint is also included as reserve for the event, and its hoped he will get the chance to race on his home circuit. Had it not been for a puncture in Flint's fourth ride in the Birmingham-staged semi-final, he would surely have made it into full field with ease.

As James Shanes is now not in the event, another Borders' racer has been elevated from reserve into the to 16 with 20-year-old Melrose-born Luke Ruddick enjoying promotion.

The full field is (in programme order):

1. Zach Wajtkecht

This is undoubtedly THE event to be a part of.... doors open 6.00pm on Tuesday May 1st, 2018 with the first race set for 7.00pm - and for a fully fledged British U-21 Championship Final, the admission is decidedly reasonable at £15.00 for Adults, £11.00 for Concessions and accompanied kids go free - as is the norm at Berwick of course.
