Berwick vs. Workington Part Two tonight at 7

LATE NEWS....Ashley Morris guests for Bradley Wilson-Dean who twisted his knee when he clashed with Jye last night.

The Berwick "KLS" Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope of Wooler) rode a brilliant match on Friday night at the Workington Comets missing out on the win despite leading for the vast majority of he match, but sealing a good draw 45-45.

Some had been concerned that the lift into the main body of the team for Dany Gappmaier might unsettle the Austrian star, but far from it, he relished the move up and top scored with a stunning 11 points, much to the delight of the travelling fans who had enjoyed their night's racing.

Tonight it's all set for another cracker of a match and more than likely another tight affair, as Berwick's team manager Scott Courtney said: "What a show from the guys tonight who rode brilliantly. There was real positive grit, determination and team spirit. We led by eight points twice on the night, but Workington's Proctor and especially Klindt who was almost untouchable, can never be discounted and their home expertise won them the draw, the fairest result on the night after a great battle and we're ready for round two on Saturday, which could be equally as close!"

Tonight Workington have Rene Bach back in harness but will be without their 18-point man Nicolai Klindt tonight as he is away in Terenzano, Italy as part of the European Championships, and will use rider-replacement for his four programmed rides.

Berwick will again be at full strength with Dany and John in their new positions, but either way it's going to be another cracking night of speedway - tapes up 7.00pm as usual.
