Bandits open season in the deep end at Glasgow

With two washed-out home matches the Berwick "KLS" Bandits (Powered by Mike Hope, Wooler) hit the road on Friday in search of group stage SGB Championship Shield points.

The Bandits are setting a course to the west tonight to tackle the always powerful Glasgow Tigers, a side who are bristling with good exciting talent, as Bandits' boss Scott Courtney highlighted: "Its going to be our very first competitive outing as a team this season after the rain has seen off every match we've had so far, but this will be a tough test for our guys to shake off their winter rustiness.

"Aaron Summers was the Tigers' skipper last year and will be pointing the rest of his new team the fastest and most effective lines round Ashfield, but it will be a hard night for us with Richie Worrall, former GP star Chris Harris, our old guy Claus Vissing and Lewis Kerr leading their strong spearhead, and even late call-up Jack Thomas has put in some useful laps already.

"Of course we're out for points and we're not in this game to give up so we're going out there tonight all gins blazing from the off to see if we can hit a shock result past Glasgow."

Berwick then welcome Glasgow back to their own track for what will hopefully be the opening home event on Saturday at 7.
