Bandits bring back Captain Doolan
Hot on the heels of the Berwick Bandits' first signing for 2018, Aaron Summers came a special birthday gift for their 2017 skipper, Kevin Doolan, as he was revealed as the second signing for next season's SGB Championship campaign, which gets under way in March next year.
Doolan, (who signed on his 37th birthday) is from Shepparton, Victoria, Australia will enter his sixth season in Bandits colours and still has the unrivalled passion and enthusiasm for the club that has made him a cult hero on the terraces of Shielfield Park culminating in him enjoying a hugely successful testimonial meeting last season, heralded by many to be the best testimonial they had attended.
He is highly respected amongst his peers and his input on all things Berwick Speedway on and off the track is what makes him the ultimate team captain, and his knowledge and massive experience makes him one of the best team men in the business.
Scott Courtney, the Bandits' co-owner and promoter said: “Kevin Doolan is a massive part of Berwick Bandits Speedway Club and his ability to encourage and inspire others around him is second to none.
"I’ve said it before and I will again, we are close friends off the track but it’s all business where Speedway is involved and Kev understands that better than most.
"It’s our utmost pleasure to welcome Kevin back and he will only bring good things to what is shaping up to be an exciting 2018”
